The Hayes & Stolz Auto-Koter is a complete coating-blending system that weighs the dry product, utilizing a weigh feeder suspended by a load cell, and liquids by use of a mass flow meter, both on stream, and automatically proportions them according to pre-programmed formulas.

Dry and liquid flow rate sensing, combined with rapid response ratio control, provides an unusually high degree of accuracy. In addition to process monitoring and control, the unit provides an on screen read out of process events, stores process data, and provides a print out for accounting and management functions. |
Surge Bin
A product surge bin with
high and low level indicators
is used in conjunction with the
control system so unit will run
only when dry product is available.
Weigh Feeder
Feeder inlet is positioned above the fulcrum point. Product flow is measured by a load cell for optimum accuracy. Product is conveyed by a drag bar to ensure even, non-surging flow into the spray chamber or directly into the blender. The rate of flow is easily changed by raising or lowering a bed leveling plate or adjusting feeder with the VFD. Self cleaning feeder is wide enough so that only a thin bed of material will feed into the spray chamber.

The dry flow is baffled into a thin stream which free falls through the spray chamber. The product stream is sprayed from both sides to assure maximum coating. The use of air assist spraying endures penetration, even if the liquid is too low to generate an adequate spray pattern, and allows the use of spray nozzles with large orifices so the spray nozzles will not plug with foreign material.
Blender
A continuous blender is positioned under the spray chamber to facilitate coating. The blender can be low, medium, or high intensity depending on process requirements.
Liquid
Mass flow meter and pump with a VFD drive controller provides maximum accuracy and minimum response time.

The Hayes & Stolz Volumetric Coating System is a cost effective alternative to the Auto-Koter. It is particularly effective when product density and flow rate are consistent.
Dry flow is controlled by the time proven Hayes & Stolz adjusta-f1o chain drag feeder. Material flow rate can easily be changed by adjusting the bed leveling plate at feeder inlet, or with an optional VFD controller.
Liquid flow control can be a simple rate of flow metering system, set and monitored by the operator.
The spray chamber and blending conveyor can be adapted to a wide range of products, capacities and blending requirements. |
